Overview
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital is a specialized and leading unit providing advanced medical care for newborns and premature infants requiring intensive support from the very first moments after birth. The unit has been developed by recruiting a highly qualified medical and nursing team and equipping it with the latest specialized devices to ensure the best possible care for this sensitive patient group.
The unit’s capacity has been expanded from 9 to 13 fully equipped beds, including dedicated isolation rooms to protect high-risk cases from infection. Strategically located next to the Delivery and Operating Units, it ensures rapid and safe intervention for critical deliveries, providing high-quality care in record time.
The NICU admits newborns from 24 weeks of gestational age up to 28 days after birth, or infants weighing as little as 500 grams, with full capability to manage highly delicate medical conditions requiring advanced care. Each year, the unit provides care for more than 1,500 newborns, reflecting the strong trust of the community and the Ministry of Health in its services.
